Hey everybody! We’ve been a little quiet lately, mostly because we’ve both been out of town a bit, but fear not - we’re going to be back up to speed soon.
Julia has a bunch of stuff coming up this summer, including participating in the Transport Group’s benefit concert of “Baby” & Wicked Divas with Stephanie J Block in Vail, CO. Check out her site for info and links.
Also, please be sure you’re following us on twitter. Besides knowing when we post something new, we share news and fun stuff there that doesn’t always make it to the dashboard here. Follow: @JEM_Tumblr

SUNDAY NIGHT FUN - CAPTION THIS!
Soooo, Julia posted the pic on the right on Thursday and the pic on the left yesterday. There is a certain irresistible symmetry to the photos. We were going to post with a caption of our own, but since we can’t stop giggling over the ridiculous adorableness, we figured we’d leave it up to you.
Don’t let us down. ;-D

(Sorry, Julia, who will probably not even see this couldn’t resist. We ♥ you!)

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.] No More Tears (Enough is Enough) by Julia Murney, Stephanie J Block
Played 56 Times

We here at JEM were deeply saddened by today’s news of Donna Summer’s passing. We wanted to pay tribute to the Disco Diva extraordinaire, and believe we have a fitting way to do it:

The audio above is of Julia Murney and Stephanie J Block singing the Donna Summer/Barbara Streisand diva-off No More Tears (Enough is Enough). Wicked Divas; Columbus, OH; June 2010.

 Rest In Peace, Ms. Summer.

One of the cool things about Julia Murney being on twitter, besides the simple fact of Julia Murney being on twitter, is her love of Instagram and sharing her pictures therefrom. They allow a little insight into the day-to-day.

Throughout the rehearsal process of The Landing, pictures have been shared by Julia and her co-stars. This weekend was tech, and it led to a rush of behind-the-scenes sharing.

We capture and post for those of you who might have missed them, or those of you who don’t play on twitter.

Oh, and there’s two pre-tech shots, one being a nice little bonus from her co-star, Paul Anthony Stewart.

In honor of all the other housewives and mothers, here’s Julia as Fastrada, a “simple housewife and mother”, singing “Spread a Little Sunshine” in the 2004 World AIDS Day benefit performance of Pippin.

(Note: this video contains some questionable bonding, a bad word, a shirtless Cameron Mathison, and Julia Effing Murney in one fabulous, slinky, red dress.)

Happy Mother’s Day to all the awesome moms out there (like ours)!

Love, your friendly neighborhood tumblr-running folk.

We received another “Favorite Julia Performance” request, this one care of nerdgirl1681: Julia Murney and Adam Pascal singing “State of the Heart” from the 2008 Drift concert.

This request was a reminder of a performance that had, honestly, not crossed our radar in awhile. It was good to revisit. Things very much liked about this:

The rawness of it. Neither Julia nor Adam seem overly-familiar or over-rehearsed on this song, which leads to being able to watch them both gain foothold as the song goes on.The audience of other cast members on stage. It’s always fun to watch performers watching each other. The rock-star notes starting at 5:15, hitting the apex at 5:25 (Love it when Julia’s secret inner rock goddess comes out.)

Just a reminder and heads up for our new followers: let us know your favorite performances and we will track them down and share with all. Send us an ask, or a fanmail, but just let us know. Also, don’t forget to follow us on twitter: @JEM_Tumblr
